I can teach guitar and/or bass to a very high standard. I prefer a bespoke method, working with students according to their specific individual needs. I can also guide students through grades if that's what they want to acheive.

I'm pretty 'old school' in my tastes, Jimmy Page, Hendrix; blues based rock styles are my forte. I can do most styles though, including metal, rock, blues, psyche, pop, etc. I also play a mean acoustic if that's yer bag.

Derek has been playing Guitar for many years. He studied Classical Guitar, gaining Grade 8 (Trinity College) in 1985.

For the last Fifteen years Derek has been working for Nottingham Music Service schools, providing guitar and bass tuition to students aged 6 to 17 Years; from beginner to BTech National Diploma. He has played in stage shows at the Royal Concert hall and Playhouse, and gigs and festivals throughout Europe and South Africa. He's also contributed to music seminars in the Czech Republic and Germany as well as gigs locally in various bands from Punk to Pop to Rock to Jazz. He is currently working on a European Jazz Project and his own music.
